Thinking outside of the box

My 4yo daughter built this structure and asked me if I know what it was? The obvious answer, and the one I've given was: "Is it a castle?".

"No, daddy, it's a fire!"

Lesson learnt.

What can we learn from small children?

My 1 year old daughter is a true inspiration to me - I love spending time with her and see her doing small new things and evolve.

It's amazing that a child that young can learn to coordinate her movements and start walking. Mind-blowing!

A great blog post from Amir Khella, creator of Keynotopia.

"They didn?t win because their idea was significantly better or more functional than other teams? ideas. There were many great ideas that weekend. But when other teams were focusing their limited time on implementation detail, that team stayed focused on high level aspects of their ideas, and spent more time hacking it and less time coding.

They weren?t coders, but they were hackers. And that ended up working great for them!"
